Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or

Spirits: Whisky

Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or

700ml 46% ABV

Inspired by the smell of French patisseries, Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or is a single malt whisky aged for 10 years in American white oak barrels before being aged for a further 2 years in French Oak Sauternes barriques.

The name Nectar refers to the sweet flavour and Or is Scottish Gaelic for Golden.

At 8m high, the Glenmorangie stills are the tallest in Scotland with their copper necks reaching 5.14m resulting in only the very lightest and purest of vapours passing through to the end product.

Glenmorangie blends its whiskies with pure water taken from the Tarlogie Springs whose water has been perculating through layers of limestone and sandstone for centuries.

Tasting notes: Lime and orange rind, coconut and nutmeg spice followed by sultanas and dates on the nose. On the palate ginger, nutmeg and toasted almonds through to a syrupy lemon meringue and honeycomb. Long and sweet finish.

Suggested serve: Unlike most whiskies, Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or is best drunk with a splash of water.
