Port / Sherry

Port is a rich red wine that is often enjoyed as a dessert wine. Made in Portugal, the fortified wine dates right back to the 1680s. With a higher alcohol content than most wines, it is served in small port glasses. Port pairs well with cheeses, making it a good choice for restaurants serving cheeseboards.

Sherry comes from the vineyards of Spain and is often enjoyed as a dessert wine. Sometimes-underrated sherry is aged to perfection for at least two years, with most made from the Palomino grape. Some bartenders are embracing sherry as a cocktail ingredient in drinks such as the Sherry Old Fashioned.
